The Art Class

I smiled, "Whatchya singing?"

"Uhm...a song by Paramore" i grinned

I leaned back in my chair, "Paramore, huh? Awesome. Why don't you sing it?"

I looked up at him. "I cant sing." I frowned and looked down.i covered my mask with paste coverd newspaper and smooth out all the rough spots.

"That's what you think." I said, "But you can sing. I know it. Everybody can sing. Pleaseeeee?" I widened my green eyes and stuck my lower lip a little farther out than my upper lip. The puppy dog face that I spent years in front of a mirror trying to perfect.

I grinned. The puppy dog face never worked on me. So instead of saying No i leaned forward and smiled. "That doesnt work".

I sighed, "Not a sucker for puppy-dog faces? Dang it."

"I might sing later!!" I assured him and quickly leaned back.

I raised an eyebrow, "Oh really? Wherever it is, I'll be there."

I shrugged. "Of course you will.." i finished my mask and sat it somewhere to dry.

I finished my drawing and held it up to Rose, "Ta da!" It looked more like a schizophrenic monkey than Rose, but it was an attempt.

I giggled. "Cute.!!" It looked nothing like me but it was always the effort that counted with me. I hugged James

I was a little confused at to what was happening. She just liked my drawing. Wait, she was hugging me. I smiled to myself and hugged her back, "Thanks." I said softly.

I nodded. "mind if i keep it..?" I asked with my hand held out.

I looked at her for a moment. She wanted that piece of junk? She actually appreciated it that much? I smiled, "Sure, it's all yours." I handed her the paper, my fingers brushing over hers in the process.

I stepped into class, unsure if this was the right one. "Uh, this looks like the art class. Is it?" I asked them and waited for their reply.

"Yes it is.! Welcome.!!" I smiled

"Oh, hello, I am subbing for your art teacher." I nodded and went towards their regular teachers desk.

I couldn't help but overhear the conversation behind me, "But, you're like, our age." I said as I turned to our new 'sub'.

"I am eighteen years old, and I've graduated early. I'm am a student teacher." I corrected the girl whho questioned my logic. I went to the front of the class and clapped my hands."Okay, guys, I know I'm not your art teacher your used to, and I look like a average student, but I will try. Also, just think of me a student here. Just cause I'm your guys teacher right now does not mean I like ordering you arouund to do stuff you don't want to." I smiled and sat back down on their teacher's chair. I hope I didn't look like an ass.

I cocked my head to the side and nodded.

I leaned back in my chair and sighed. No teacher showed up again. Woo hoo.

"Whats wrong..?" I leaned back and whispered to James.

I shook my head, "Nothing, Hummingbird. I'm fine." I whispered, placing a hand on her arm.

I nodded. I was already finished with what i was doing. James' skin felt so nice against mine ..or was I just being weird again.?
